Community Impact Grants

The Community Impact Grant Program provides $2,000 to $10,000 in funding for projects which forge partnerships, tackle our region's most pressing issues and make a lasting impact upon Windsor-Essex. Applications for Community Impact Grants are usually available in July of each year and are announced here and through our eNews, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Fast-Track Grants

The Fast-Track Grant Program allows the Community Foundation to support local charities who are faced with an emergent situation. This could be a unexpected expense which is preventing operations (like a leaking roof) or an opportunity with limited advance notice (like hosting a dignitary for a major announcement).

Applications must:

  • meets our standard granting criteria,
  • request an amount of $1,000 or less,
  • be the only Fast Track application submitted by the organization in the past 24 months,
  • have not been submitted under the Community Impact Grant program,
  • and, be from an organization that has an operational budget of less than $100,000/year.

KidStart Mini-Grants

KidStart is a special granting program which is offered in partnership with our local school boards. KidStart provides grants of $250-$500 to elementary school classrooms so they can undertake a special project.

Proposals must:

  • Meet a need that was identified by the students
  • Involve all the students of the class
  • Promote connections between school and community
  • Be creative and innovative
  • Have the approval of school administration
  • Go beyond the funding or content of standard curriculum
