The WECF has demonstrated year over year results using ultra conservative investments. Our lean operational budget ensures maximum value to our donors. We operate 3 types of funds; a balanced fund, a bond fund, and a bond fund with equity components.

Strong Investment Policy

WindsorEssex Community Foundation's staff and Finance Committee continually review and evaluate our formal Investment Policy to ensure it incorporates relevant research and industry knowledge.

A long term view

The very long term horizon of an endowment allows us to make decisions based on the long term trends of capital markets, not on their short term variations.

Benchmarking

The foundation's portfolios are managed to their appropriate benchmarks, and compared against other investment counsel firms.

Experience and expertise

We use the services of experienced investment advisors and then actively oversee these professionals to ensure they adhere to our Investment Policy. TD Waterhouse Private Investment Counsel is currently the investment manager for the foundation.

Diversification

Our portfolio asset mix is 50% invested in fixed income securities and 50% invested in equities.
